Hello Stingrays! I'm Dave Marx. This is my fourth year coaching with the Stingrays and my second as head coach. I grew up just down the road in Waunakee, where I swam and coached, before earning a scholarship to swim at UW Green Bay, where I competed as a student-athlete and team captain. After college, I attended graduate school in clinical psychology, where I earned my doctorate, and I currently work at the Mendota Mental Health Institute as a clinical psychologist. In addition to coaching for the Stingrays, I coach for the Madison Aquatic Club and am a USA Swimming certified coach.
When I'm not coaching or working, I love spending time with my family (Rachel, Kenley, and Schuylar), playing with our dog Frodo, reading, lifting weights, swimming, watching movies, and writing and recording music.
My favorite thing about coaching the Stingrays is getting to know all of the amazing swimmers and families that are part of the Stingray team!
Hi! My name is Ellie Eisele and I will be the 13-14 coach this year! This will be my first time coaching this group, but sixth year coaching overall. Growing up, I swam on the Stingrays from when I was 8 to 18. Currently, I am a sophomore in college at UW Madison studying kinesiology. I'm really excited about coming back to Stingrays this year and can't wait for summer!
Hi! My name is Norah Ebert and this is my first year being the 11-12 age group coach for the stingrays! Although this is my first year being an age group coach, I have been swimming on the stingrays for 8 years and coaching for 4. Outside of stingrays I am a swimmer on the Middleton High school team and I swim on BAC year long. Outside the busy world of swimming, I am an avid reader and someone who loves to be outside. I am really looking forward to a great summer of working hard and having lots of fun!
Hi Stingrays! My name is Leona and I am so excited to coach the 11-12s this summer! I have been swimming for the Stingrays going on 9 years, and this is my third year coaching! I swim year-round with Badger Aquatics (BAC), as well as the Middleton Girls Swim and Dive team the past two fall seasons. Outside of swimming, I enjoy weight lifting, traveling, reading, baking, and spending time with friends and family. I am looking forward to a fun summer on deck and in the pool. Go Sting!
Hi Stingrays! I am Liam Mair and I’m happy to be this year’s 9-10 age group coach. I have been part of the Stingrays since I was 6 years old and after a quick 12 years I now attend UW Eau Claire majoring in accounting and minoring in math. Some of my favorite things about being on the Stingrays are game days, meets, and night practice so I hope to make these as much fun as possible for all Stingrays this season while also working hard. I am super excited to meet all the 9-10s this year and work with them as we jump from 25s to 50s. If I could give some advice before the seasons starts it would be to get ready to do lots and lots of flip turns!
Hi! My name is Rian and i will be the 9-10 assistant age group coach this year! This is my 4th year coaching and my 9th year on stingrays. I swim year-round for Madison Aquatic Club and for Middleton in the fall season. When I'm not coaching i love taking walks, being outside and doing crafts. I’m so excited to coach and I'm looking forward to an awesome season! Go Sting!
Hi! My name is Sophia Eisele and I will be returning to the Stingrays as a Lead Age Group Coach for the 8 & unders this year! This will be my 4th year of coaching. I have been swimming Stingrays since I was 6 years old, and this year will be my senior year on Stingrays. I am really excited and looking forward to the summer!!
Hello! I'm Miri, and I will be one of the Lead Age Group Coaches for the 8 & unders this year! This summer will also be my 11th season swimming with the Stingrays! I swim year-round with Badger Aquatics Club and for MHS in the fall. When I'm not swimming, I enjoy reading, running, eating, and spending time with friends. I am super excited to co-coach with Coach Sophia this summer and am looking forward to a great season!
Hi Stingrays! My name is Kaitlyn Peters and I couldn't be more thrilled to be returning to the Stingray family this summer. I was the 8 & under coach for summers 2021-2024 and will be returning as an all age groups helper coach for the summer. Stingrays sparked my love for swimming back in 2012 when I started on the team as a 9-10, and this team and swimming have held a special place in my heart since then. Last spring, I graduated with my nursing degree from and swam all four years at the D1 school, University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. I now work as a NICU nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. I am looking forward to a summer full of Stingray fun and can't wait to help out where I can :)
Hello! I’m Sophia Bonti, and I will be one of the 8 & under helper coaches this summer! I’ve been coaching the 8 & unders for 4 years and can’t wait to continue coaching. I’ve swam since I was 8 years old with the Cross Plains Stingrays, Badger Aquatics Club, Madison Aquatics Club, and the Middleton High School Swim and Dive team. In my free time I like to practice a number of instruments, read, and do various art projects. I’m so excited to have another great season with the Cross Plains Stingrays!
Hi! My name is Sabrina, this is my first summer coaching and my 10th season swimming on Stingrays. I swim year round on MAC (Madison Aquatic Club) and I swim for the Middleton girls swim and dive team during the fall. Outside of swim I love traveling, baking, working out, and spending time with friends and family. I’m excited to get to know everyone and have a great summer together!
